| There is no absolute scale to the maps. Internally (for historical reasons), the program uses an altitude scale where -0.1 is very deep sea and +0.1 is very high mountain. The Olsson colour map has 30 different sea colours and 30 different land colours. If we say that very high and very deep is 7500 m above / below sea level, then each colour ranges over 7500/30 = 250 m. |
