Venue
The seventh COST Action meeting will be held in Leicester, United Kingdom and hosted by the University of Leicester. Located in the Midlands, Leicester is highly accessible from East Midlands Airport, Luton Airport, Birmingham Airport, Stansted Airport and other London airports (see below).
Leicester is notable for being the birthplace of legendary broadcaster and naturalist Sir David Attenborough, as well as his brother, the actor and filmmaker Lord Richard Attenborough. Leicester is also the home of the (hugely surprising) 2015/16 Premier League football champions, Leicester City FC.
Founded in 1921, the University of Leicester is world-renowned for both the discovery of DNA fingerprinting in the 1980s by Sir Alec Jeffreys, and more recently the discovery of the remains of King Richard III.
The meeting takes place at College Court. From the university it is approximately a twenty minute walk to college Court (which is not on campus). For a Google map location see here. The address is:
College Court Conference Centre,Knighton Road,
Leicester,
LE2 3UF,
Sat Nav - LE2 3TQ
On-site parking is possible.
The Arriva bus 44 (bus stop Northcote Road) connects with the city center, the station and the University. From the University, the bus stop is on the other side of Victoria Park.

By Air
East Midlands Airport (EMA) The closest airport to Leicester, though is relatively small with flights to and from a select number of countries (mainly Europe). Bus and railway links are available from the airport to Leicester City Centre. For example, a five minute shuttle to East Midlands Parkway from which it is 20-30 minute by railway to Leicester.
Birmingham Airport (BHX) Around an hour away from Leicester, again with very good railway and coach links to Leicester City Centre. Travel time by railway is 1.5 hour.
London Luton (LTN) Around 1.5 hours away from Leicester by railway (2 hours by coach).
London Stansted (STN) Around 2.5 hours away from Leicester by railway (longer by coach).
Other airports in London include London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW)
By Railway
Leicester Railway station is roughly a 35 minute walk from College Court. Alternatively the Arriva bus 44 or a cab can be used. The railway station is highly accessible from both London and Birmingham, making it ideal for airport transfers. See the location of the railway station on the map below.
By Car
Leicester is well linked via the motorways M1, M69 and A6 between London and Birmingham.Map
