Heightmaps and BUMP maps?

Heightmaps and BUMP maps?

After using this generator a bit, I have decided its the best so far I have seen so I am using it for renders, and I was wondering if it would be at all possible to get generator options (Like the one that gives a mere outline of the landmasses over white space) for heightmaps (Greyscale ones, whiter = higher) and BUMP maps (The ones where reflective surfaces, i.e. water, are white, and the rest is pure black) both of which I am trying to do eslewhere but its hard to make them fit nicely.

Also, side question, is there ANY possibility to ever get an executable version? I am absolutely stuck with the complier option for download, which I cant simply make work, and 1000x500 is just too low for most renders. D:

Aside from that, gorgeous generator, congratulations. :D

The offline version has an option for heightmaps, which outputs a list of numbers representing altitudes.  It is also possible to make a greyscale colourmap that would represent altitudes as scales of grey.  I will add one such shortly to the webpage.

For bumpmaps, you can use the White colourmap.  Since this is uniformly white at all altitudes, only the bumpmap affects the colour.

As for a compiled version, there is an older version of the program compiled for Windows at the webpage.  I'll try to make a new version (I don't usually use Windows).  The offline version is controlled entirely from the command line with all parameters as command-line options.  So, even on Windows, you would need to open a command-line window to make it work.

Thanks for the fast reply.

I know the offline version uses commands, and I sort of get them, my gripe is more about starting the program to begin with, which I have never managed to get going. After that, I am sure I could sort of figure it out if there is any '/help' esque list of commands to use.
Hopefully a nice coder can come along and make a more user friendly version. After all, this is the best generator as far I have have seen, and its free to boot!

That said, any method of getting the program to work offline would be great, as the better the resolution, the cooler the planets.
Even then, 1000x500 is doing wonders for me, look! http://runetrantor.deviantart.com/art/Maria-Before-and-After-an-Armageddon-426115433?q=gallery%3ARuneTrantor%2F18063278&qo=5
Thanks to you. :D

On windows, the easiest way to run the program is to copy the executable (I promise to compile the newest version soon) to a folder and then open a command-line window, change directory to the folder and then write a command like

planet -s 0.1111 -w 1000 -h 500 -pM -B -o myPlanet.bmp

which sets the seed to 0.1111 (corresponding to 1111 in the online version), the width and height to 1000 and 500, uses the Mollweide projection, adds bumpmap and outputs the result in the file myPlanet.bmp, which will be placed in the same folder.  A full set of options is shown in the manual.
